Pretty Brown Girl is an organization that focuses on empowering African American girls. Pretty Brown Girl works to provide scholarships, mentorships, and a sense of community for young brown girls

When using the app users can track their engagement by tracking what workshops they've been to. In addition to this, you will be able to use your GPS to find events near you.

GOALS & PROCESS

Jacqueline spent a few hours gathering key information from the Pretty Brown Girls website. Jacqueline wanted to highlight their mission statement, photo gallery, and objectives. The goal was to make navigation as soon as possible while maintaining a similar color.

Every app highlights a specific function. The Pretty Brown Girls app helps users find events. This feature is not available on the website which is why the app is essential. A combination of animations and visuals get users from one page to the other while remaining engaging.

BRAND GUIDELINES

The colors pink and blue wave were used to represent feminity and trust. The organization focuses on building an open space for young women of color to come and be transparent about their daily lives.

Arial Rounded was used because it is legible and clear. The rounded look adds a layer of softness and fun in order to make the app and website kid-friendly.
